The Role:
- Developing and leading a high performing inventory function based on delivering the Business Strategy
- Leading, developing, owning, communicating and driving the delivery of the Inventory Strategy
- Delivering an efficient and cost-effective supply of inventory to drive required customer experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver inventory performance in line with plan/budget
- Lead and develop an inventory function across the company that ensures the timely replenishment of stock
- Deliver an inventory strategy based on real added value and sustainable benefits which inspires confidence through high quality service and engagement
- Deliver strong inventory controls to assist in the efficient movement and management of slow and non-moving items
- Deliver a robust cycle counting process in line with metrics and financial audit requirements
- Deliver effective reporting (to include stock value, stock accuracy, waste/write-offs, identification of high selling items) and recommend courses of action
- Work closely with the Procurement function to identify opportunities and deliver improvements in inbound supply, delivering operational and financial efficiencies and benefits
- Deliver strong leadership, influencing and collaboration skills in working with the senior business teams.
The Candidate:
Skills, knowledge and attitudes
- Significant, demonstrable experience gained within a supply chain /distribution
- Demonstrable experience of effective inventory management including stock locations
- Significant, demonstrable change management experience
- Proven leadership skills with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills the
- Demonstrable commercial skills supported by a pragmatic approach and not afraid to get into the detail when required
- Good business acumen including the ability to identify key issues and risks before they arise
- Demonstrable planning and organisation skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Confident with a high level of personal and professional credibility
- Build and maintain relationships at all levels within the business

- Strong analytical skills coupled with excellent IT skills – Excel expert level preferred
